Hunger Games Catching Fire
I wake up to find gale leaning over me. "sup katnip" he said. I looked up at him and said "what happened?" "you kinda destroyed the hunger games" he said. Then it all came sinking back into me, the games, the tributes, Peeta. Peeta. Where was Peeta?! I look at Gale frantically and I could tell he knew what I was thinking before I even asked. "We don't really know where he is katnip... we couldn't find him"
I sat up frantic, not caring about the pain in my body. "We need to find him!" I said, looking for some clothes to change into. "no, you need to get some rest, I shouldn't have said anything in the first place..." he said. Just then, Peeta walks through the door. I glare at Gale to see him smiling, a jokingly one. "You didn't we'd let you wake up to not find him safe and sound did you?"
Peeta glances at Gale "uh...what just happened?" he asked confused, clearly having no idea about the prank Gale just pulled on me. "just welcoming Katniss back is all..." Gale said. "That wasn't the slightest bit funny, you nearly gave me a heart attack" "well can't I just have a little fun?" he asked. I just glare at him, and that was his answer.
Gale leaves leaving me and Peeta alone, he sits where Gale was sitting and smiles at me. "hows the mommy feeling?" he asked. I was a bit confused then remembered the 'baby.' "fine, feeling a lot better now that I know you're safe." Peeta looked down for a minute, like he was remembering something dreadful.
"what's wrong?" I asked, "is something wrong with Prim and Mom?!??" "no, they're fine now" he said. "what do you mean by 'now'" I asked suspiciously. He looked down at the ground hoping to avoid my question. "Peeta what happened..." I asked, scared. "katniss,there's no easy way to say this at all...but..." he trailed off. "but what?" i asked.
"There was a bombing in district 12 right after the hunger games... we got Prim and your mom out just before it could hit where they were." "Is district 12 ok?" i asked but knowing the answer right away. "katniss... there is no district 12.."
